The “PBA Tour Experience” bowling League, hereinafter referred to as “The Tour” shall be sanctioned by the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) and shall consist of one (1) bowler per team man or woman. The Tour will bowl on Mondays beginning June 4th 2018 and will start promptly at (8:30pm Fall & Winter, 7:30pm Summer) and will bowl for 16 weeks in the Fall and Winter and 13 weeks in the Summer. The Tour will bowl on a variety of USBC Certified Sport Patterns.

MANAGEMENT

The Management of The Tour shall be vested in the Board of Directors, which shall consist of League President, Secretary and Captains. Rules & Regulations are created by League Secretary. Any changes to rules & regulations after The Tour has started must be voted on by the Board of Directors and vote must be 100% of present Board of Directors.

FEES

A $25.00 league participation fee will be charged per bowler, and will be deducted from money collected during the season. The fee will be used towards league expenses (administration, pattern plaques and Tour Championship Crystal Pin).

We do not use treasury envelopes. Every Monday you will report to the desk, pay your weekly dues and receive your recap sheet with your lane assignments.  The amount to be paid by each bowler each night shall be $35.00 of which $16.00 will cover the cost of lineage and $19.00 shall be deposited by The Tour Treasurer in the account for the Prize fund. 

All bowlers will be responsible for USBC sanction fees. 

SANCTIONS

Sanction fee breakdown are as follows:

If not sanctioned anywhere for the current season, first time sanction is $25.

If Sanctioned Out of County, local county sanction is $15 to Bergen County.

SUBSTITUTES

Substitutes may bowl on any week of the season, except for the End of Season Tournament, and are not allowed to bowl the stepladder finals of any pattern. Subs must pay weekly fees for bowler they are subbing for (No Pay/No Play no exceptions).

ENTERING AVERAGES

This is a scratch league; entering averages are not in effect.

LEGAL LINEUP

A minimum legal lineup must be present by the end of the 4th frame, or you will forfeit the game and you will be allowed to “PACE” at that point. If you show up before the end of the 4th frame (end of 4th frame is when the pair directly to the right is complete with the 4th frame, end pair goes to pair to the left), you will receive 9 miss for the first two frames and you start on the third frame. There will be no waiting for bowlers running late.

FORFEITURE

In a forfeit situation, you must beat a score of “175” to earn the match point (30 points for winning match, 15 for all ties).

ABSENTEE (BLIND) AND VACANT SCORES/ BOWLING UNOPPOSED

Bowler absent with no sub will forfeit all matches (refer to forfeiture rule above) and receive a score of 175 per game for that night. Opponent will have to beat the vacancy score of 175 in order to receive bonus pins. No individual member will be permitted to bowl league games before or after a scheduled match. A sub cannot advance to the stepladder finals of a pattern. If subbing and you make the stepladder, you automatically earn 5th place and #5 seed advances in place of the sub.

PRIZES

No individual awards will be awarded in this league. Prize money will be handed out prior to End of League Tournament.

For those bowlers who are at the collegiate level, you will be bowling for Scholarship money as set up in the USBC “SMART” account, and a USBC Singles Competition Prize Waiver must be signed as per rule 400.

SALARIES

The salary to be paid to the Secretary / Treasurer shall be paid at the completion of The Tour Schedule. Full payment shall not be authorized until the secretary / treasurer has furnished to the local USBC the final average sheets. The salaries for secretary / treasurer shall be the entry fee times(x) the amount of bowlers divided(/) by 2 after all other league expenses have been handled.

TOUR FORMAT/PATTERN POINTS

You will bowl for 3 weeks on each pattern (Fall & Winter 5 patterns, Summer 4 patterns).  Week 1 & 2 you will bowl 4 games each night for standings.  Week 3 is position round, you will be seeded in groups of 4, and bowl round robin in your group, bonus pins will be awarded to the winner of each match.  Winner will receive 30 pins ties will receive 15pin.  Bowling against a blind the score will to beat will be 175.

After 11 matches the top 4 bowlers will advance to the pattern stepladder finals. 

In the stepladder finals #4 will face #3, winner will face #2, winner will face #1 for the pattern title.

Pattern points won every 3 weeks are based on your standings after the stepladder finals of every pattern (which is every 3 weeks).  

PATTERN POINTS

1st – 2200 | 2nd – 1900 | 3rd – 1800 | 4th – 1700

BOWLER’S RESPONSIBILITIES

Each bowler shall be the scorekeeper for the opposing bowler and must initial the recap sheet or there opponent.  Scores with no initials will not be accepted.  Each bowler (including subs) shall pay the bowling fees required at the beginning of each night of bowling.

No one will be allowed to bowl in arrears.  There is no ‘PAY LATER’.  NO MONEY ENVELOPES WILL BE GIVEN OUT.

Bowlers will pay their league fees and pick up their recap sheets from the front desk. 

Leaving The Tour

If you cannot finish The Tour for whatever reason, the following steps have to be taken:

  • A two week notice has to be given in writing to the president that you will be withdrawing from The Tour
  • You must pay for an additional two weeks to leave The Tour.

So in total its 4 weeks, the two weeks’ notice, plus the two weeks to leave The Tour.

  • If a bowler leaves The Tour he/she forfeits prize money.

So if you can’t finish find someone to finish for you.  This is a serious league for series bowlers.

NO PAY, NO BOWL, No Exceptions!!!

The prize list must be approved and distributed to each Bowler by the fifth (5) week of the Season. No individual awards will be awarded in this league. Prize money will be handed out on August 27th prior to End of League Tournament.

The #1 seed will receive a one game bye and goes straight to the finals, the remaining 3 bowlers will face each other.  Winner advances to face the #1 seed for the pattern championship.

The #1 seed will warm up on the same pair as the other 3 advancers (5 minutes of practice), then will have a warm up pair set aside.  Once the match is over the #1 seed will get 2 minutes of practice on the championship pair, alone, advancing opponent will be able to warm on designated warm up pair.

Pattern points won every 3 weeks are based on your standings after the stepladder finals of every pattern (which is every 3 weeks).  Thirty (30) bonus pins for each match won.  Fifteen (15) bonus pins for a tie.
